Haptic feedback for motion trajectories in Mixed Reality
Most of the things we do in our daily lives involve us moving our limbs in 3D space, so a big part of transferring specific skills is enabling people to replicate these movements. Whether we are working out, playing an instrument or performing assembly tasks, repeated 3D movement sequences are part of acquiring new skills.
Visualizing these sequences in Mixed Reality through motion trajectories can enable learners to precisely follow them in 3D space. But immersive holographic trajectories are abstract, and just retracing them might not give you enough stimulation to effectively learn and evaluate your progress. That’s why we have thrown a haptic vibrotactile bracelet into the mix, allowing you to physically feel when you are on the right track – or deviating from it.
